Ultrasound Do you find out results the day?

Hi guys x
Hope you are all keeping safe and well.
I found a lump on my breast 3 weeks ago. My GP seen me and referred me to Breast Clinic. Went to St James last Thursday for initial assessment. Consultant was not worried about lump on right breast but I've 2 on my left that need more investigating. I'm back tomorrow for a mammogram on both breasts , an ultrasound and biopsy on left. I'm wondering will the Dr that is doing the ultrasound be able to tell me or let me know if it's just a cyst and nothing to worry about. I've not slept great in 3 weeks and although I'm trying to keep positive it would be great to have some idea.Do they say nothing about what is seen on screen and you've to wait for all results when biopsy results return?

Hi positivevibes,
I have no idea how to advise you, as I am kind of in the same situation as yourself. I'm going to Beaumont for a mammogram tmro after finding a lump 2 weeks ago. Im so so nervous and really don't know how its going to go? Wishing good news for us both 🤞🏻

Hi Ash x
I hope you aren't too worried about tomorrow's appointment. It's the not knowing that's the hardest part and waiting for appointments is just as hard. I've read a few stories of girls experiences and some mentioned being told on the day of ultrasound what the findings were so I'm hoping that's the case. Trying to keep life afloat with 3 kiddies is a little hard when you've this playing on your mind x We'll be fine though,I'm sure we will both be giving ourselves a talking to for stressing over nothing this time tomorrow!!! Sending you a virtual hug & well wishes for your appointment x

hi there.

I have had a bit of experience here but its not to say you'll be in the same boat. I had an US few years ago on a lump and they drained it- it was just a cyst.

this time I had US, they took 9mammogram images and a biopsy. Doc couldn't say what it was but I asked was it not a cycst and she said "its not something that can be drained"

they can't say for sure until you're biopsy results come in which take a week. Doc advised me to bring someone to my results app. Unfortunately it wasn't good news for me but getting seen is the most important thing so you're on the right path no matter what the results are.
fingers crossed for you!!
