Hi Everyone,

Thanks for that flo.
I have sent a complaint into the hospital about what happened to me. I had a cooling off period to see if i felt better about what happened, but i havent cooled off. Im still quite upset. There was no need at all for me to have gone through that. Im not looking to get anyone in trouble, i just want them to look at the next person and treat them properly. Im so afraid about getting the port out, ive had nightmares. I think the only way they will get it out is if they knock me out Image removed.

Thanks for posting the link.

I have just moved back from the US and finding the whole medical system here difficult to navigate.

In the US there is definitely a more 'customer service' attitude towards paients (though I know a lot of the medical profession don't like to consider patients as customers - but we are!).

I have an appt with my reconstruction surgeon tomorrow and his private secretary is a nightmare. She initially wouldn't give me an appt witout having all my US records - I can understand the Dr wanting them to review before I show up but before making an appt was a bit much.
I called to confirm tomorrows appt and see what I needed to bring and her voicemail says she's not there till this afternoon and don't leave a msg as it won't be returned!
I will be making a complaint about her once my surgery is done.

Hi JudiG,

Good luck for tomorrow (well its today now!). hope your appointment went well.

Sorry your experience of the secretary was not pleasant. Hopefully she was nicer in person?

What construction are you looking at? Any idea when you will be done? I'm due to have bilateral mastectomy with expander/implant recon on Tues Sept 14th.

Regards,
Flo.
