Exercise during Treatment
Hi,
I was just wondering has any used a personal trainer located in Dublin 3/5/9 during treatment or post treatment? I'm having 5/6 TCHP today and hopefully last one will be end of June. Then radiation to follow.
Thanks for the reply. I had surgery in January when they thought it was pre cancer from biopsy results. Mastectomy results gave a very different picture. The gym germs are a worry but I think I need someone to show me how and what to do. I'm not very good at following things on line 😊
Then a PT is your best option and ask if the sessions can be a t non busy times. Surgery for Her2 is normally after chemo, which is why I was concerned you might pick an infection and it could delay it. But if you're finished all active treatment, go for it. Try not to get too hung up on your pathology report, you're on the road to recovery now.Easier said I know x
Trying to take it one day at a time, some days more difficult than others but will get there.

Hi CT80
I hope you are getting through your treatment ok. It is all so hard! It is great that you are wanting to stay active throughout, and it should really help to lessen the side effects of treatment.
We would love to speak to you on the phone regarding exercise programmes, we as nurses here on the support line could refer you to. Our phone number is 1800 200 700 & we are here Mon-Friday 9-5pm.
I do hope we will hear from you. We will be able to tell you about other supports available to you also at this time.
Kind regards
Cancer Nurse
Hi. I had the same regime as you. I would suggest lots of walking for fitness and perhaps weight training at home using YouTube videos. Only a suggestion. Are you having surgery? You just don't want to pick up any germs from a gym while your immune is low.
