Chemo

Last reply: 06 May 2021 12:12

I'm going for my second round of chemo next tue and I'm dreading it. I was so sick after my first round for a week I'm wondering is it worth it.

Sorry to hear that you were so sick after your first round of chemo. Stick with it as it is worth it. If you talk to your medical team they might adjust how much chemo/anti-sickness meds you are getting so that you don't feel so sick the next time.

Hope this helps and good luck with the rest of your treatment.

Thank you it was horrific I got a reaction and they had to stop it for 30 mins anf then continue. They changed my meds so hopefully I won't be sick tonight.

They will do an assessment and if you were too unwell they may reduce the chemo dose. As noted already, they also should be able to increase steroids or other anti-emetics. Talk to them and they will help, I know my team adjusted my meds where possible as we went along.
