Research participation opportunity: body image and cancer-related lymphoedema

A team at DCU are conducting research, funded by the Irish Cancer Society, examining how body image issues are experienced over time by individuals with cancer-related lymphoedema.

A team at DCU are conducting research, funded by the Irish Cancer Society, examining how body image issues are experienced over time by individuals with cancer-related lymphoedema.

The specific aims of this research programme are:

  1. To track how body image issues are experienced over time by individuals with cancer-related lymphoedema. 
  2. To explore the personal impact of body image from the perspective of such individuals.

The research will involve:

  1. A series of surveys with individuals with cancer-related lymphoedema. 
  2. Focus groups with individuals with cancer-related lymphoedema.

You are eligible to take part if:

  1. You can provide informed consent.
  2. You are aged 18 or over.
  3. You are able to read/write English.
  4. You have been told by a health professional within the past 12 months thatyou have cancer-related lymphoedema symptoms. 

The research team are starting recruitment and would be delighted if you or someone you know were interested in participating.
