Make A Splash A Day In May

Join our first swim challenge by doing a Make A Splash A Day In May! Jump, splash, swim or quickly dip into the water every day throughout the month to support cancer research.

Supporting Cancer Research

The Irish Cancer Society is the largest voluntary funder of cancer research in Ireland and we are committed to improving the lives of cancer patients in Ireland through research.

Cancer researchers around Ireland are doing their best to adjust to the ‘new normal’ as they seek to continue improve outcomes for those impacted by cancer.

This life-changing research is made possible by supporters like you.

Set up your Facebook fundraising page

Creating a Facebook Fundraiser is a great way to raise funds. Your friends, family and co‐workers can donate easily and securely through Facebook, and the money is directly deposited into the Irish Cancer Society bank account.

Not sure how to setup your fundraising event on Facebook? Follow the steps below to get started.

  • Head over to the Irish Cancer Society Facebook Page
  • On the left side of the page select Fundraisers (you may have to click See More)
  • Select the Raise Money button (on the top right side of the screen)
  • Facebook will ask you to set a fundraising target and the date your fundraiser should end. Make sure to set the date to a few weeks after the event ends as donations can still come in after the event. We recommend setting it to 30 June 2021.
  • Once the Facebook fundraising page is created, you can change the cover photo to the Make a Splash a Day in May photo available here and personalise it. Let friends and family know why you are taking the plunge every day for the next month.
