Lung Cancer Needs Study seeks participants

Cancer researchers in DCU are looking to speak with people living with or caring for someone with lung cancer as part of new Irish Cancer Society-funded research.

The Irish Cancer Society wants to know how to best address the needs of lung cancer patients and their carers. By listening to their stories, we want to learn what physical and emotional needs they have so that we can adapt our services to best address them.

If you know someone who may be suitable and may like to talk to our researchers, led by Dr Pamela Gallagher, please spread the word and let them know about thyis opportunity:

If you have been diagnosed with lung cancer or have cared for someone with lung cancer, we need people like you to tell us your experiences, attitudes and beliefs surrounding your support needs.

This will involve either a one-to-one interview, or a focus group with other people similar to yourself, at a convenient location.

The interview will last for about an hour and focus groups may be slightly longer (up to 90 minutes).

You would be asked some basic information about yourself, and questions about any support needs you have had and if these needs have been met. You can also bring up any other issues that you think are important.

If you’re interested in taking part or would like more information about this study, please contact Dr Andy Cochrane by calling 01 700 7762 or emailing andreanne.cochrane@dcu.ie.
