The Irish Cancer Society is delighted to announce the launch of its new flagship research programme, the Collaborative Cancer Survivorship Research Centre.

As highlighted in the National Cancer Strategy 2017-2026, advances in cancer treatment are greatly increasing survival rates for patients. However, the consequences of cancer and its treatment can result in significant, often lifelong, effects on health and quality of life.

The Irish Cancer Society is dedicated to improving the experiences, quality of life, and outcomes of all those living with and beyond cancer. In recognition of this commitment, outlined in the Society Strategy 2020-2025 and Research Roadmap, the Irish Cancer Society has invested significantly into identifying and addressing the survivorship needs of people with cancer.

It is now time to bring together the country’s expertise by establishing a Collaborative Cancer Survivorship Research Centre.

Funding of €4,000,000 (€800,000 per annum) is available for a core award to drive forward a programme of up to 5 years in duration.
