Last reply: 14 November 2024 16:04
Hi, I am low risk prostate cancer. I've had biopsy and MRI. Gleason 6. I think (!) that I would like a PSMA pet scan to give a better image of my prostate. If necessary, I could pay privately. How can I get PSMA pet scan?? Thanks folks,

Best hospital for advanced prostate cancer

Last reply: 14 August 2024 11:12
Hi everyone, I live abroad and was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer with a rare mutation. I have 3 young kids so I need to move home to Ireland to be close to family and the wife and kids have more support. What’s the best hospital to get referred to that with specialist is more rare cancers? Note: I won’t have private health insurance, I doubt I’d qualify :)

Facials with a cancer diagnosis

Last reply: 14 August 2024 10:44
Hello, I was diagnosed a few years ago with NLPHL which is a rare type of lymphoma. I have had 1 lymph node removed in my neck (which is how I was diagnosed) and I am currently on watch and wait 'treatment' per se. I am hoping to have a hydrafacial soon, and one of the questions is asking if I have cancer currently, or a history of it. I am hesitant to inform the clinic of this as I don't think that my history would effect it - but is this me being negligent? If anyone can shine a light on why this information is needed for facials and massages, please do let me know. Thanks a million, CD09

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone here has undergone HIFU for prostate cancer in the U.K. How was the process for you and did VHI reimburse any of the cost ? Thanks 🙏

Referral

Last reply: 05 September 2024 13:18
Hi there, My GP found a lump and tissue thickening and referred me urgently for a triple breast check. She said I would be seen within 2 - 3 weeks. It has been 2 weeks and I just got an appointment letter dated for October. I am nearly 50. Should I contact the clinic, wait it out or go privately although I don’t know how much that would cost. Thank you G.

Just diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, metastasis in hip

Last reply: 09 September 2024 16:05
Him I was diagnosed with stage 2b breast cancer 2 years ago and have just been informed it is back and has now metastasised in my hip. I am 44 and my partner is expecting our first baby in a few weeks. I would love to hear from anybody living with mets and how they cope day to day with the diagnosis. Currently my body is not responding well to ribociclib, my liver in particular, and I am waiting to see if I can start on a lower dose after my next blood tests. Does anybody know what the next form of treatment would be if I cannot take ribociclib?

Last reply: 16 September 2024 12:42
Hi everyone, My name is John I am 40 diagnosed with Kidney Cancer this summer, it's been a strange few weeks. Kidney is gone already, had a few bits removed from bladder as well. That's the very quick version of my story. I will probably write more another time. I have a Wife 4 kids, 2 my own 2 foster(feel like mine) age range 17-4. The last few weeks, It's been a lot. But why am I writing here and now, I guess it's just to express love to everyone who scared or lonely in their diagnosis. I want to say I have love for you, I care and I wish you all recovery and peace. John
