Just diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, metastasis in hip
Him I was diagnosed with stage 2b breast cancer 2 years ago and have just been informed it is back and has now metastasised in my hip. I am 44 and my partner is expecting our first baby in a few weeks.
I would love to hear from anybody living with mets and how they cope day to day with the diagnosis. Currently my body is not responding well to ribociclib, my liver in particular, and I am waiting to see if I can start on a lower dose after my next blood tests. Does anybody know what the next form of treatment would be if I cannot take ribociclib?
Ashling I'm so sorry I read your story and another ladies and mixed you both up sorry I meant the reply for her but the congrats for you 😘😂 chemo brain has got me good.
Dear Aisling.
Thank you for posting on our online forum. I am very sorry to read about your diagnosis, I am sure this is a worrying time for you and your partner. However, I am sure that the imminent birth of your baby is keeping your spirits up, congratulations.
I do hope that you get some responses. In the meantime, I wonder Aisling if you would like to speak on the phone to one of the women in our Peer to Peer support group who has been diagnosed and living with metastatic disease after a breast cancer diagnosis. We could arrange this if you phone us at 1800 200 700. We are all cancer nurses here Aisling and would very much like to support you at this time.
We wish you the very best and hope we will hear from you on the phone. Our number is 1800 200 700 and we are here Monday-Friday, from 0900-1700.
Kind regards,
Cancer Nurse
Hi I was kind of in a similar sulituation myself last December I was told I was non urgent and the wait could be 3 to 6 wks. It didn't sit well with me so I rang the breast clinic twice and got an appointment after 2 wks. So if you haven't already you should give them a call. It's never a bad thing to keep advocating for yourself. Hope all goes well and congrats on baby X
