Hi I am hoping to find out whether u get the results of your mammogram straight away or not -this will be my first one after a year long treatment for breast cancer

Covid19,prostate cancer,treatment brackytherapy, is my immune system dowm

I'm 1.5 years post stem cell transplant after being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic leukaemia. Would I still be in the high risk for COVID-19?

I was referred to a Consultant Dermatologist last July 2019. I had a mole on my neck which was changing. I finally got a call on 23rd December for a consultation on 2nd January 2020. I had the entire mole removed on 15th January 2020. I thought it was okay, it was removed so I really didn't give it much thought until I got my results on 25th February 2020. I did not expect to be given a diagnosis of melanoma. The thickness was 1.5mm and the stage is 1B which is early but I had to wait 6 weeks for results which really threw me. Initially, my form was good, at the time I remember thinking why am I so upbeat. This didn't last. This turned into furious anger. Why me? I always wear high factor protection, I am not a sun worshiper, I don't use sunbeds. I am having a WLE and SNB done this week. I am terrified, I won't tell a lie. I am a single Mom to an almost 16 year old daughter. I had to tell her last night, she is still in shock, I am still to be honest, I haven't really gotten my head around it because I was not expecting the diagnosis. I am just hoping that it hasn't spread any further. It has been so upsetting and stressful so far, if I have to face another bit of bad news, I don't know how I will cope.

Hi I’m wondering can anybody give some advice, I found a lump on my breast 4 weeks ago. Went to my doctor straight away she said she was referring me to st James and marking it as urgent and I would been seen in 2weeks, a week and a half went by and I heard nothing so I ring the doctor back turns out she didn’t send the referral and only sent it 2 weeks ago, I rang James hospital and they said it will be 8 weeks before I’m seen I forgot to mention I’m a brca 1 gene carrier this seems to make no difference I explained to the receptionist in st James my case but she didn’t seem to bothered, now I’m panicking that I won’t be seen at all with all the corna virus and not been allowed into hospitals, I’m going out of my mind with worry, any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi there, I’m looking for any advice/ideas for how my family and I can help my Mother’s mental/emotional state, which has taken a dramatic decline in the past few weeks. Mum was diagnosed with terminal stage 3 non small cell lung cancer last September. Since then, she has endured 5 rounds of carbo/taxol and 1 round of immunotherapy. She has suffered every symptom and has had to be hospitalised after each and every treatment received. During her most recent stay in hospital (last week!) her Doctors suggested taking a few months off from treatment all together because it’s making her so ill. They will assess again in 8 weeks but indicated to Mum that they cannot continue with treatment when it is having such adverse side effects. This seems to have signalled the end to Mum, and we fear that she is throwing in the towel. She isn’t bothering to eat at all this week, and though we are a very close family who freely talk about feelings, Mum is barely speaking to any of us. She seems deeply deeply depressed and we are heart broken. We would desperately love for her to talk to somebody experienced (and think she may be open to counselling) but we do not know where to turn and are unsure about what services are currently active or even accessible to her given the situation with COVID. We are beyond devastated....any/all suggestions for my Mum are welcome. Many thanks x

Hi. My mom was told last week that her cancer has spread to her bowel. Last November it had began to spread to her liver but she was put back on chemo which didn't work. Mom originally had it in the appendix which was removed but chemo was never given afterwards as a precaution. Sadly the cancer came back nearly two years ago. It was gone into the lining of her stomach. She was out straight on aggressive chemo which worked. It was contained and she had a break from chemo for months, we were so thrilled. Then last Aug she was very sick. Couldn't eat and what she did eat she brought back up. She was eventually hospitalised and we were told then that he had started to spread into her liver! Last week her oncologist told her it was now gone into the bowel as well and that she had months. We are all so broken. Her oncologist wants to see her back in April and he said if she is in good form and stronger he might give her aggressive chemo! It's like the last chance. But the last few days it's like she has thrown in the towel. She hasn't been going to the toilet but she hasn't been drinking water or eating either. I'm just so lost and broken, I don't know what to do

Hello, its Mother Day and Mam Passed away on the 15th of February this year. I wanted to write a word of immense gratitude to 2 amazing nurses, Catherine and Mel, who helped us through the most difficult time in my family's life. I can't put into words how much this helped us to have 2 such caring, professional people on hand to ensure that Mam was as comfortable as possible at this most difficult time. Apart from telling them both individually how grateful we were to have them, which seemed to so inadequately describe how we truly felt, I have no other way of letting them know how much of an impact they had on our lifes. So today, on Mothers Day I pay tribute to the invaluable work of the silent heroes, the night nurses, by donating to this amazing service in the hope that I may help in what small way I can. Hi guys im new to this actually just joined when i found this post last night. im just wondering would you be waiting long from an urgent request of 2 weeks to be seen in James Hospital for breast lumps, this was last Wednesday . im just wondering anyone else have same problem and what was there outcome. im going out of my mind eve4ry day wit worry and wit this current climate in the world , not making it easier. crying every day and trying to hide from my kids. i really dont no im going out of my mind. ~Ive got a lump in the 2 breast , one breast has pain other dosent. just wondering do we get a call or a letter ?? for the 2 weeks urgently for when we will be called ?? Just dont no who to chat too. and cant meet up for cuppa wit noone either. have great family and support but not the same at this current time. sorry for the questions

Hi I found a small lump in my right breast which my GP found straight away and gave me an urgent referral for the Mater Hospital, this was on the 12th March, i rang the breast clinic in the Mater Hospital and was told due to the ongoing Corona Virus all appointments have been paused for the time being and that referrals are being looked at. This is a very worrying time for everyone and I completely understand that resources are needed to help with the Corona Virus but does this mean all other urgent medical appointments and screenings such as breast lumps are not being done at the moment. Honestly going out of my mind worrying and the wait is awful, thank you.
