No lump in breast

Last reply: 20 May 2021 21:52
Hi I'm currently waiting biopsy results. I had a dull pain in my left breast and went the doctor. There was no lump but he sent me for mammogram to be cautious. The mammogram showed something they think might be a radial scar but ultrasound was clear. The doctor said she is nearly sure it's the radial scar but I needed a biopsy to check. I'm up the walls now waiting for results. Do they tell you that they think it's ok just so you don't worry or would they tell you it's serious. I'm so worried about results.

HSE cyber security breach - Appointments next week

Last reply: 17 May 2021 10:33
Hi, I've an appointment early next week. This will be my first appointment in a symptomatic breast clinic. I'll likely be having a mammogram and ultrasound at least. Do you think these type of appointments will go ahead? It sound like the cyber security breach will be ongoing? Thanks

Breast lump

Last reply: 18 May 2021 17:16
Hi, I've been referred to a breast clinic after finding a couple of lumps. The GP think they are 2 different types of cysts. The whole area is now quite painful with the pain going up into my arm pit. Has anyone experienced this before? Don't know when I'll have appointment due to the cyber attack Thanks F

Post mastectomy advice

Last reply: 07 June 2021 21:48
Hi everyone, I had a single mastectomy on May 4th without reconstruction and was hoping someone could advice on where to buy some kind of really soft camisole/vest that will create a barrier from clothes but wont rub or move and irritate skin as I am very sore and sensitive.I dont want to wear a post surgical bra as I got a post op infection which as left me really sore. no matter how soft the shirts/ tops that Im wearing are as they move they are rubbing and causing painful irritation at least a bra would create a barrier but because of the infection I would rather wait until everything is properly healed. I am finding myself holding the material of whatever I am wearing away from my skin all the time. Is this just par of the course and something I just have to put up with? Kind regards, AnnH

Oesophageal Cancer

Last reply: 19 February 2023 04:45
See full post on caring for someone with cancer. I didn’t tell you the full story, as my father was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2009 and he got the all clear but was going back to hospital every year to get checked and had a CT scan in July 2020 to check for cancer and his last appointment was in October 2020 in relation to the bladder cancer and he was told all was good, he was delighted, we were delighted, then in November 2020 he began having swallowing difficulties and was losing weight but all the medical professionals were telling him everything was good so he or we didn’t think there was anything wrong with him. He was put on acid reflux tablets for 2 weeks at first as they thought it might be acid reflux, symptoms persisted (swallowing difficulty) my Mother rang our Doctors again and they were going to prescribe another weeks course of acid reflux tablets, but I explained to my Mother that she needed to ring them back as something was not right and ask for a letter for A&E. My father went to A&E on the 7th of December 2020 and on the 8th of December all alone was told he had advanced oesophageal cancer with a mass of 35 to 40cm in his oesophagus and it had spread to his liver, what a bombshell, it’s unbelievable 😭 My father passed away on the 7th of March 2021.
