Dexamethasone-racing pulse?
Hi all
The night before I have the taxol I have to take 20mg dexamethasone at midnight and another 20mg at 6am. I find it sends my pulse racing constantly and really it doesn't stop doing that until 5 days later. If I walk upstairs, it gets even worse. Did anyone else follow this protocol and have a similar reaction?
Thanks
Jo
Hi Ephemere
Thanks for reply. I asked before this weeks chemo and was changed to half the dose. So I don't have the racing pulse so much but I have more nausea!
Anyway, that was last one so I'll put up with whatever. When I was told in July that I would have chemo until Halloween, it seemed a lifetime, can't believe I've done it
Glad you are feeling good. x
Hi Josephine
Congratulations on having had last chemo.Hope the nausua subsides soon and you can put the chemo behind you.

Hi Wilmaone
Thanks for good wishes. I'm much better today. Xx
I Reckon Dexamethasone definitely felt like living in the Flower Power days of the 60's - amazing dreams though
Didnt like them but of course took them all was definitely zoned out!
Congrats again chemo finished
Yep Jo,
I remember it well, and I had the impression I wasn't alone in feeling a bit high and speeding on the chemo ward the day after taking dexamethasone. I used to dread taking it as I took it for four days each time, progressively lowering the dose after chemo day, as I found sleep poor or non existant on dexamethasone. Still I suppose it is a necessary evil to prevent allergic reactions to chemo.
Having said that, you should discuss it with your doctor........
Best wishes from someone a year over. You'll get here too. Its great!!!
