I am currently going through thyroid cancer also, I've have 2 operations, the first was to remove a nodule and that half of the thyroid- results came back to show the nodule was cancer and so the second half was removed a week ago and I should be getting results of that tomorrow, all going well I should be having radioactivte iodine treatment in dublin in about 8 weeks nothing confirmed yet, I would also be interested to hear from people that have gone through this... Not alot of information out there.

I just had my thyroid removed, is it okay to take Nicorette with a synthetic thyroid medication? It says to not take it if you have a thyroid disease.. I had my thyroid out because it was enlarged, they biopsied it and it came back negative but they wanted to take it out and check inside. I'm waiting for the results, but I've also quit smoking and am taking Nicorette lozenges. Anybody know?

I had my thyroid and a couple lymph nodes removed 10 days ago.
The neck wound seems to be recovering well. But I have a large area of numbness on the right side of my neck, covering part of my shoulder and into my jaw. Plus, both my arms and hands have constant pins and needles feeling. There is also a little bit of trembling in my entire body.
I was wondering if this is normal, or if anyone else has this experience? I'm an artist, and finding it a bit difficult to draw these past couple of days. I'm so hoping it will clear up soon.
Please share your experiences.. thank you.

Hi everyone...just to let you know that there is a Thyroid Cancer Support Group in Ireland dedicated to the support of thyroid cancer patients. The website is www.thyroidcancersupport.ie, the e-mail is info@thyroidcancersupport.ie. They are also on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. I could have really done with their support when I was going through thyroid cancer. It would have made all the difference. Mary
