New breast lump

Last reply: 22 November 2022 14:20

I found a lump in my breast 8 days ago. I was referred to my local breast clinic. I was told if they think it's urgent I will be seen in 6weeks. If they decide its not urgent I will have to wait up to 12 weeks. I cannot sleep with the worry. I am a Mum with young children. My arm on the same side as the lump is very weak and heavy. Is this something I should be worried about in relation to the lump? Thank you

Hi dochas1

Sorry to hear that you found a lump in your breast and that you may have breast cancer. Nine times out of ten breast lumps are nothing to worry about but the waiting to be seen by the breast clinic is perfectly understandable. Why not ring them and explain about your arm and ask them for the first available appointment.

While I'm not a medical expert the weak and heavy arm could be caused by any number of things.

Hopefully you will get an appointment soon and that the lump will turn out to be nothing serious.

Best wishes
