Hi Railwayman,

Your words certainly hit home with me. Cancer is definitely a hell of a rollercoaster - never liked them. Rail travel is much more pleasant.

I hope you have some friends and family around to help you through the rough times, though I think it is very hard for people who have not been through this themselves to understand what we live through while being treated for cancer and how we adjust to life after treatment.

It might help you to find a support group in your area.

Wishing you good health and better times ahead.

Hugs

Kath

Dear Railwayman;
I can certainly emphathise with you hitting a tough time, I hit my wall 2 years after diagnosis; I was a month after finally finishing the last of my medical treatment. I had been doing so well while in treatment that I couldn't understand what the heck was going on but I knew I needed to do something about it. So after many trips to my GP, and being referred by my onco-liason nurse to a therapist in the hospital, I found these to be really helpful. There's a tag-line going around "It's OK not to be OK", you have taken one step towards helping yourself by reaching out here, so maybe if you could take another step and talk to your oncology team and your doctor, I'm sure they will be delighted to support you during this. And undoubtably, if you could see if there is a support group close to you, it might be good to join it - and with all this, and opening up to your family, it might help. xx
