Clinical Trial

Last reply: 03 July 2023 11:29

I’m currently undergoing treatment for triple negative breast cancer. My oncologist has suggested a clinical trial called Sascia Clinical Trial with the drug called Sacituzumab Govitecan. I was just wondering if anyone else has taken part in this trial and if you could tell me about your experience with it and the side effects?

Hi kransom,

Thank you for posting, I’m very sorry to read what is happening and I hope that you are feeling well on your current treatment.

Deciding to go on a trial treatment can be a very difficult decision to make, I have attached information here about trials from our website that you may find helpful in making your decision.

There is information available on the Cancer Trials Ireland website about the SASCIA trial.  It may be worthwhile to speak with the trial team to discuss the trial, any concerns or questions you may have including noted side effects from other trial participants.

As it is a global trial, you could also ask what other countries the trial is being performed in to post on relevant online communities to connect with other people who are on the trial.

I hope this is helpful and that you are able to connect with other trial participants to discuss their experience.

Kind regards,

Cancer Nurse.
