Tamoxifen Menstrual Cycle

Hi Guys
Hoping you can help..I finished treatment for breast cancer in January 2021..In January 2021 i started tamoxifen I'm on it 1 year and hadn't had a Menstrual Cycle for 20 months.. 20 months until today that is..I started my period today and am a little anxious..Oestrogen positive was my cancer..Because I'm having periods again this this increase my oestrogen levels putting me at risk of recurrence..Apologies for the big long spiel

Thank you for posting on our online community. I am sorry you have this concern but I am hoping you will hear from other ladies as having periods while on Tamoxifen does happen and is not necessarily something to be alarmed about.
You will need to contact your breast care nurse or oncology team. Based on your age and medical history they will advise you if they think this is to be expected, that your periods would return and reassure you. They can also advise you if they want you to have a consultation with a gynaecologist.
