Hi fifi,

Thanks for posting, I’m sorry to read of your diagnosis of breast cancer, I hope you are keeping well otherwise.  Like yourself, many women would be worried about waiting from diagnosis to starting treatment.  However before starting treatment, the doctors need to perform all the tests to help plan optimal treatment for you.  It would be normal to be waiting a few weeks to have all these tests completed, generally cancers tend to grow slowly and waiting a few weeks should not affect the outcomes.  This will also be confirmed by your biopsy and the scan results so far.

If you would like to speak with a cancer nurse about any aspect of your treatment or for any support or advice, please do not hesitate to contact us on 1800 200 700, we are open from 9am-8pm Monday to Thursday and 9am-5pm Friday to Sunday,

Kind Regards,

Cancer Nurse
