Hi, I wonder can you help me?
My father is 88 and has had several bcc removed over the yrs the most recent last week on his nose, and a fairly substantial one on his head requiring a skin graft,3 wks previous!
These surgeries were very difficult for him and I really feel he has really aged since , I know you cant advise me but what would happen if he didnt have any more removed, my heart goes out to him , he was fairly active up to now Im wondering is it really necessary to keep having surgeries, he lives on his own in Dublin, I live in Galway, he has mentioned to me he couldnt face anymore surgeries but doesnt want to die yet!
Thank you for listening
kind regards
Fiona

Hi Fiona,

Thank you for contacting us. I am very sorry to read that your father has been dealing with BCC and that he is has had several surgeries. This must be a very challenging time for both of you and it’s understandable that he having difficulty coping with it all.

We would advise that your father should speak to his consultant about how he is feeling and discuss what options are available to him.

If you think it would be helpful, please feel free to call our nurses on the Support Line 1 800 200 700, Mon-Fri, 9-5. We are available to discuss your dads situation and support you in any way we can.

Kind Regards
