Last reply: 12 January 2021 11:35

Does anyone know should you shield after completIng chemo/ retuxamab infusions 1.5 years ago. In the uk it states if your not more than 2 years in remission you should shield. It’s v confusing.

Hi

Yes it can be very confusing indeed! We would suggest you go by the current advice on the HSE regarding the precautions necessary. If you are unsure as to whether you are very medically vulnerable or medically vulnerable you may need extra information from your doctor or you could phone us and we could talk to you about the stage and grade of your cancer, any other medical conditions you may have, your age etc and help you navigate around the current guidelines.   Our support line is available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 1800 200 700.

Kind regards,

Cancer nurse.
