Waiting time for referral to

Last reply: 17 May 2021 22:14

Hi,

I found a lump and the GP found 2 more. I've been referred to the Galway Breast Check clinic. I've phoned them and they have my referral letter 2 weeks. GP marked it urgent. They couldn't say how untilI get my appointment. What has your experience been?

Also how long should I expect to be at the clinic the day of the appointment?

Hi,

I got my appointment. It's for 3 1/2 weeks after GP sent referral letter marked as urgent. It's probably quicker in non Covid times.

I've noticed one of the lumps has grown in this time and I found another (the size of a frozen pea). Has this happened anyone?

Hi

While I didn’t find a second lump when I had my ultrasound the doctor found another lump under my arm.

Best of luck with your tests.

Best wishes

I was seen very quickly in the Galway clinic last June 2020 like you my form was marked urgent. It was about 1 week after the referral was put in. They are absolutely fantastic there. Good luck.
