Tamoxifen side effects & Clonidine

Last reply: 18 February 2015 21:32

Hi there,
Hope you're all doing well! I haven't posted in a while and I'm just wondering if anyone else out there is taking Clonidine to help with hot flush side effects of Tamoxifen? I was prescribed them about ten months ago and took them for three weeks before giving up (my family thought that they were affecting my mood Image removed. !) but the hot flushes have gotten soo bad now that my doc wants me to try them again.. Any feedback would be great Image removed. .
Thanks

Hi, I had awful hot flushes, sweats to the point it dictated my clothes and wearing no makeup. I was on lyrica for peripheral neuropathy but they were still hot, fast & furious.
I have accupuncture once a week and that's literally it. No hot flushes, sweats etc. when I stopped during the summer all came back as strong as ever. But on recommending accupuncture flushes etc were gone, and still are gone.

Non invasive & it can help with other ailments you may have or even to relax the body.
Best of luck

Hi there sunshine71!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I actually hadn't thought of acupuncture, but it sounds like a good solution. Since posting I have resumed taking the Clonidine & I do seem to be tolerating it better this time but as yet the flushes are not totally gone. The doc suggests giving it a month so I will wait until then & depending on result I will definitely look into acupuncture Image removed.

I hope that you are keeping well Image removed.
