New arrival

Last reply: 25 February 2014 15:55

Hi all
I haven't been on in awhile but just wanted to share some good news! My beautiful baby boy was born last Tuesday morning and is absolutely perfect! I underwent a mastectomy and 4 sessions of AC while pregnant with him and luckily it's had no negative impact on him so far. I have 12 taxol and radiation still ahead of me but I've a few weeks grace to allow my body to recover so am going to enjoy family life and not think about cancer for a little while!

Hopefully this post will reassure anyone in the future who receives a breast cancer diagnosis while pregnant!

Best wishes everyone!
Pamela

[color=#0080FF:80d9bnxv]Congratulations Pamela on the birth of your son......it's always great to hear happy news. Your so right to just focus on family life for now. Treatments will come and they will also pass. I finished my taxol march'13 and radiotherapy may'13 and I'm enjoying my family life more than ever,if that's possible. My 'babies' range from 18 down to 5 and nothing beats having all my children squashed in the bed with me at night just chatting and having fun. One of the best things I've learnt is to just enjoy the moment. Wishing you lots of fun and happy family time with your children. [/color:80d9bnxv]

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. He's two weeks old today and absolutely fabulous. I'm enjoying every second with him, although I didn't appreciate his feeding demands every 2 hours last night but that's my worst complaint right now so things are pretty good! Hope things are going well for everyone else too!

Delighted to hear it's going so well for you and your little man is obviously thriving! Enjoy this special time. Although the 2 hourly feeds are tough going...hope you're getting some rest as well, your body has been through a lot.

Hi Pamela,

Delighted to read your good news and sending you and your little son lots of good wishes.

I bet the 2 hours feeds are tough going and I hope you have some help at home. Try to take it easy and enjoy the time with your family.
