Hurdle 1

Last reply: 30 November 2012 16:48

Yay!
I can now say that I am according to the surgeon : cancer free!!!! Image removed.
Hurdle 2 and hurdle 3 await me and I have to meet oncology in 2 weeks time.
But it's a relief to finally hear that it's gone and everything else they give me is to make sure it never comes back!!!!

Now if I could get rid of the drain, life would be excellent!!!!

Oh neadie that is the most wonderful news well done. I will hopefully be pronouncing that in January. Are you definitely getting Janice? Do you know when chemo will start. We will help you through that.

I just washed my hair lol (wig) God can't wait till my hair grows back its very chilly these days without it. I'm going to experiment and maybe go plum (was blonde) for a change.

It's all uphill from now you'll be like me flyng this time next year xxxxx

Thanks Mary!
HUGE relief!!!
Looking like I'm going to get Janice as my oncologist - they said that they would try their best to accommodate me there!!
All I know is that I meet her(?) in 2 weeks time and the ball starts rolling from there. I'm just hoping against hope that the chemo journey won't be too nasty or horrible, but I see all of you guys doing so well, and hopefully I'll be the same.....

8 weeks today I was diagnosed, and what a difference 8 weeks makes....

We're heading away for the weekend so going to try to be normal (hard with a drain hanging out of you!!!!) and enjoy every min!!

Hope all good with you xx

It's really wonderful to hear you being so upbeat and deservedly so. Did you ask for Janice? Oh she is just great makes everything seem so straightforward. I love her. Look there is no point in saying its a walk in the park as it isn't but it's doable. I have only one really bad day and I endure it as best I can then it passes and I start to come out of it. I try not to think about it in between sessions when I'm good, it's one day at a time and my husband is looking after me well. Just take one session at a time and click it off. I've now done more than I've to do which keeps me going. We're off to Cavan next weekend and I'm looking forward to my treatment in the spa. Then in for my second last one on the Monday. I will try not to think about that when I'm enjoying my weekend.

Yes time does go by I started chemo on 10th sept seems like a lifetime ago. I can hardly remember life before all this, it just seems to absorb your whole life.

You enjoy your weekend you so deserve it. Cancer free weekend!!!
