You will be surprised at how quick you adjust.I had wig all ready for when I shaved mine and I can count on one hand the amount of times I wore it!!!!another step done and closer to finish line.

Well done Neadi,

Onwards and upwards from here. You will get used to it surprisingly quickly. Once it is gone it is gone am afraid but it will be back before you know it.

That makes two of us today, my hair gone too. Had to get it shaved, had become a health hazard at mealtimes. Got wig fitted as well, but whipped it off as soon as I came home, headache from neulasta is unbearable and wig just made it worse, but will keep it for occasional wear.

But what a relief not to have to keep gathering my hair up after me, as soon as I made any movement.

Feeling cold though!

Oh I know anriocht! I was getting afraid of getting into the shower fir fear of more carnage.

My friends called around for a Chinese and a chat and they were so positive with the different bits of headgear I had!

Thanks everybody for the fantastic support!! It makes such a difference to chat to people who understand.

I just hope it grows back.....

Neadi and Anriocht

Well done to the two of you. It's not nice losing your hair but we all reach the point where it just has to be done.

As the others have said, you adjust so quickly to this new situation. Once the hair is gone, its gone, but will grow back before you know it.

Thanks roseo
I felt so blue when I woke up, but I put on a beanie and ran for the first time in nearly 2 months!!!

Feel better now! It won't make my hair grow back any quicker, but I'm more in control now! I know the treatment is horrible, but maybe it's up from here??

Oh good for you another hurdle. Like the other girls on here the wig is on the stand more than it's on my head. Just too artificial but it does look like my own hair but I know it isn't. You'll beget used to it I did and I wear he hats and turbans all the time. I find my head gets chilly. I have some chemo fluff but it'll be a while before I've a ponytail!!!

Well done Neadi and Anriocht on getting rid of that nasty nasty hair - its awful when it starts fall out. I quite like the shaven look quite handy when going as Sinead O'Connor to fancy dress tonight - but now its comletely bald gonna use some dots of eyeliner on top of head to make it looked shaved.

Fair play girls another bit down the road for the both of you xxx

Ps my cap falls off my head every night in bed it drives me mad gonna have to do something about it I will look even freakier going to bed - sexy devil Image removed.

My cap also came off every night in bed and I always woke up with a cold head and face. I decided then to wear two hats - my soft cotton one and a fleece hat on top. Now I'm lovely and toasty in bed and sometimes wake up with a sweaty head.

Ladies

My hair is starting to grow back grey and curly. Had dead straight hair before .... Gas! Glad to see it coming back. Growth slowed as I was on Chemo again but can go without hats/scarves now which is cool.

Best of luck to u both.

Think of all the time you'll save not doing your hair!

So this week, the focus will be on your hair falling out; next week the focus will be on something else to do with your treatment, and hopefully you'll have gone through all this with very little drama and maybe find the funny side of it all.... I won't speak for everyone else but while it wasn't a very nice thing to go through, there were so many good things that came out of it all that it helped me be cope with it, and enjoy my time out!

Take care ladies, hope it's all over before you know it x
