Very best of luck with it Karen. When you're up to it can you post and let us know how you get on. I am not familiar with TUG reconstruction, and will have to have reconstruction myself after treatment so really interested to see how it goes for you x

Hi Karen,

All the best to you for your Op. Hope all goes well.

I'm also still waiting on reconstruction, so I'd be very interested to see how you get on.

Take care of yourself.

Thanks ladies. I will certainly post afterwards to let you know. My Husbands only comment so far was it brings a whole new meaning to "do you want breast or thigh?" Image removed.

Oooh good luck Karen, have had all my surgeries in Beaumont. Staff are brilliant (tho under pressure all the time!)

Have you your bag packed etc?? Open fronted jammies are a must tho you prob won't need them till about thurs when you might be a bit more mobile.

Stay ahead of the pain. Morphine makes my tummy really I'll so I switch to intravenous paracetemol after a day or so...

Good luck!

Getting there thanks!
Just over 2 weeks in and still walking with a slight stoop, but off all pain meds and just hoping I'm healing properly.
I can't drive or do anything really strenuous for another 4 weeks at least, but trying to make the most of it- before I go back to work!
Hope all going ok with u
Xx

7 weeks since the op now.
For anyone considering TUG flap reconstruction I just wanted to update you on my recovery. Although I still feel tightness in my legs I have regained most movement (squatting still a bit of an issue). Still a bit of tightness when I raise my arm to the side, but otherwise no issue with the reconstructed breasts. Looking forward to the minor procedure on 8th May to tidy up the scars and even up the two sides. (A bit more fat to be removed from my hips by liposuction, and put back into the new breasts!)

Roll on Summer!!!
