Floppy Fiona Lifted and New Implant In

Last reply: 20 December 2013 00:26

Hi All

Been a while since I posted.

Just to let you know had my operation for reduction on Good Boob (Floppy Fiona) and exchanged my expander for an implant.

I am five days post op, am black and blue and to be honest not as sore as I thought I would be - hope I am not tempting fate.

I just wanted to let you know for those that maybe wondering if you should go for reconstruction or for those who have expanders but never went and got the implant how I am feeling. I am feeling fecking great about my decision. Floppy Fiona is now upright and pert (I was a size DD or E) now I would say around a D. The new implant is so much for comfortable than the expander I found the pressure on the expander very tough - this is now way more comfortable. I have to have one more operation to make the implant a bit bigger as its not as big as the other one, this will be done with liposuction from tummy and injected into boob. I will also then get the nipple and nipple tatoo.

Its been a very long year - but it feels So So So So So wonderful to look down now and see that I have two boobs (albeit not perfect) YET!

This has been my Cancer gift after what I have been through, two pert boobs and a smaller tummy as had to have a bit of liposuction too. I feel wonderful about it all. For those considering it I for one would say go for it. The few days being uncomfortable is so worth the results. I feel I can get on wtih things now and body wise I am in a much better place than I was pre cancer.

Onwards and Upwards

Congratulations Dee

I'm glad to hear your surgery went well and you seem delighted to have two boobs again.

After reading your post, I'm going to look into reconstruction early in the new year. I finished radiation in mid March 2013, but was told to wait 1 year before reconstruction.

I agree with Wicklow Lady's post that you have been an inspiration and a great support to the ladies in the BC forum.

Have a great Christmas.

Such good news for you, a well deserved Xmas present.
I am just starting my own road trip and had first chemo yesterday, first time I kinda got emotional, I suppose it made it all the more real, but anyway, other than the steroid Image removed. , things moved along quite nicely, the meds they give you for nausea are fantastic, I honestly felt like I could have gone go work today, but gonna keep that thought on hold until after Xmas

Happy xmas to all and a brighter new year

Good for you Georgia it's important to be positive. Speaking from experience first few chemos are ok but mind yourself you are more vulnerable to picking up infections. Mind yourself you are now number one that's the motto, but you will see on this forum that many of us are fighting fit having come through it all. Yes it's an emotional time. Best of luck.

Brilliant news Dee.

I can certainly recommend reconstruction. It is great to look down at two reasonably ok boobies and think yes, I have made it to this point.

Take it easy on the post op recovery.

Hi All,
As you can see from previous post recently diagnosed ILBC, some nodes positive, not sure just how many. I started on the road trip to recovery last Monday and on steroid and nausea meds, had the nurse call to show me how to do injection for white blood cells this morning, well yesterday now.
Having trouble sleeping at night, been awake since four, any suggestions as to how to get at least 6/7 Hours a night, managed ok today with only 4 hours last night, no cat Nap today, but don't want to crash and burn before Xmas. Not big into taking anymore drugs and have covered pillows in lavender oil which can help you drift off. Is this wakefulness the norm.

Thanks

Georgie123
ILBC some nodes positive
AC Chemo x 2 weeks for 4 sessions
Taxol to follow x 1 week for 12 sessions with Herception incl. with every 3 week cycle
Then surgery then possible clinical trial for Tdm1.

Delighted for you Dee,

I hope you have the fantastic Christmas you and your family deserve!

I am still waiting for reconstruction after 18 months!! Admittedly I am going for Diep type recon which does have a long waiting list. I have been frustrated by delays getting a referal from Limerick (where they don't do this type of recon) to Beaumont and then a series of appointments in Beaumont where I was told I would have my op last August, then they said October, I am still waiting and recently had to undergo investigations on my good side as the nipple turned in the same way as when I had my cancer! Fortunately it is a benign "duct ectasia" but I feel I cannot fully recover and get over the cancer till I have the recon.

Hi Georgia 123
I found it hard to sleep just before chemo and found by taken the steroids early in the day helped , never took them after 4 o clock . Done the white blood cell injection myself so you will be grand ,amazing what you can do when you have to , I have just finished my radiotherapy and still doing the herceptin (7more to go) , started in February of this year 2operations ,chemo ,radiotherapy it seemed it would go on for ever , but I have come out the other side , stay positive and try and get some exercise every day ,I think by getting out and about when I was able really helped my recovery , good luck !
