I think 6 weeks. I am going the other way round. Doing chemo and 6 weeks later will have surgery then 6 weeks later start radiotherapy.

That is a long time. Are you sure you will need Chemo? I am attending St. Vincent's in Dublin and from the very beginning they gave me a mapped out treatment plan. Obviously subject to change if anything was slowed down/delayed ie if I missed a Chemo date due to being too unwell to treat. Can you ring your breast care nurses. They are usually very good and helpful. All the very best to you.

Dane.

Hi there, generally chemo starts 4-6 weeks after surgery but my breast nurse said generally it is 4 weeks and max 8-9 but from experience during my surgery/chemo/rad therapy no two people's treatment ever seemed to be the same, it's v individual.

Best of luck Image removed.

The hardest part of all this process is the waiting game... I could cope with the surgeries but waiting and waiting for results or appointments is so hard....

Hi ya

I was allowed to start my chemotherapy almost six weeks from the date of when I had surgery. But as mentioned already, there are many reasons for everyone's start date being earlier or later.

Best of luck and hope it goes well for you x

Hi

Thank you all for your replies. I got oncotype results today and a 20so even though only 5mm seems was very agressive. Bit shocked as told by two consultants probably no chemo. Will start on Monday 10weeks after surgery

Hope you all doing good
Take care

Hi
I was told six weeks after surgery.
The waiting in between all these appoinments is the worst. Gives far too much time for me to think and worry.

Molly, so sorry to hear you have to have chemo but you know it's for the best xxxx I feel like I've cheated all of ye because I only scored an 8... I thought you'd have to be up in the 40's at least... I met a girl yesterday in the recon. clinic and she scored 26... she's on her 2nd bout of 4.... Feel like I haven't 'really' had cancer because I haven't had to have radio or chemo... Off to the doctor today for my zoladex injection so early menopause, here I come .... Image removed.
