Last reply: 16 January 2017 11:34

Ive had her+ node negative bc twice 2012 and 2014 lumpectomy and rads then mastectomy and chemo 2nd time. Ive had prophylactic mastectomy and oophorectomy. I take Letrozole. My back aches on 1 side and my joints are sore. Im wondering has anyone had this diagnosis and treatment and still developed secondaries?

Dear Anne-Marie We see you didn't get a reply to your post yet.If you would like a nurse here in the Irish Cancer Society to put you in touch with one of our peer to peer volunteers who has a similar history to you, just phone us and we can arrange this.Having back ache and joints sore may be a side effect of Letrozole. However you are worried that it might be related to your cancer. You are asking about the incidents of secondaries. We would suggest you also have this conversation with your Oncologist. He has the detail of your specific diagnosis and tests results and is in the best position to discuss this concern regarding your chances of developing secondaries. I'm sorry you are going through this anxious time and do phone us at 1800 200 700 to discuss what support is available. Kind regards Cancer Nurse
