Hi Gemgee,

I'm sorry to hear about the pain you are in. I am post radiation too, I was very sore after for a while but it went away..I don't know how long over your radiotherapy you are? Was it very recently?

Hi Gemgee,

Sorry you are in pain, I am post radiotherapy and still have a lot of discomfort in my breast and arm. I have been told to give it time to settle that it may take up to year or so. I did have an m.r.i as I am too sore for a mammogram. It was clear as I'm sure yours will be. Are you taking pain relief? I shall think positive thoughts for you on Monday, I know exactly how you are feeling.

H petal,
Thank you for replying. Nurse said that to me yesterday re MRI.
Did you have to lie face down for an hour?
Am in lot of pain today, even down to my fingers. I think they think it's in our heads. On lots of tablets as i have had 3 back ops.
Journey to Du blin is a killer, have my sister, who is my rock.

Hi Gemgee

I had to lie face own for about 45 mins which wasn't too bad really. It is very noisy, they do supply ear plugs and are watching you all the time. When did you finish r/therapy? Does elevating your arm help at all?

When I finished r/therapy I was in a lot of pain mainly in my breast and arm, I was treated with i.v. antibiotics & painkillers and they said it was cellulitis. They would not confirm if this was caused by r/therapy, I got different views from my oncologist and the r/t doctor.

It's great that you have support in your sister, mine were the same. Let's know how you get on, Best of luck on Monday.

Take care of yourself.

i,
Finished radioth in Dec 09, had pain on and off during it, but only since Feb that it got this bad. No elevating my arm doesnt help.

Got through so much in life and now more. People dont understand,
Get cancer and life changes. Are you angry?
Lympoedema was never mentioned, i never had swelling, but did see
a woman in hosp with it. Will let you know how i get on.

Gemgee

Hi,

People do understand, people like us understand each other. I hate when people say you're looking great and you're back to normal, but sometimes I'm screaming inside. I'm more frustated than angry, our lives have changed but we have to stay one step ahead of cancer and get fitter and healthier and knock it into touch. This is me being positive for today. I hope all goes well for you tomorrow.

Take care

I do hope you are feeling a little less stressed ,did they give you anything for the pain? When you get your results and they will be fine Image removed. have a few quiestions written out re anything you are concerned about. If you have a head like mine, all sense of reason goes out the door and I come away even more muddled.

I finished chemo and r/therapy last year , my right side is still swollen since the r/t. I am having treatment for lymphodema, just started this week, hopefully it will improve. Let's know how you are doing.

Take care

Hi, Petal,
Just to tell you that i got good news Image removed. re my first mammogram
Such a relief. May put up with pain, with the extra painkillers, dont
know what it is.
Go back in 3 months when i'll have full body scan as i have a cyst on
my liver. It's a very trying time before first mammo. Am on Arimadex
and get hot flushes and other pains plus stiffness.
My husband got bad news yesterday and has to go back into hospital, all this stress cant be good.
Thanks for your kindness, and hope your lymphoedema clears soon.
Are you in hospital?

GEMGEE,

Sorry re delay in replying, computer died. I am Image removed. that your news was great from the mammo. I have tried sage drops for the hot flushes, helped somewhat and stay away from hot drinks and spicy food. I'm melting in the heat at the mo. I am not in hospital ,thank god. Do you feel pressure in your arm, have you tried massaging your arm, it may help.

I hope your husband is doing ok, please try and don't worry , no good for you. Hope you and yours are enjoying the sunshine.

Hi, hope your pain not too bad. I did have arm massage

Will you send good vibes up there for my huband who went in to James today, unexpectably. All we can do is pray.
My daughter walked the Mini Marathon today for our support group.
They got very wet!

Am awake, cant sleep.

Thanks for answering me.
How are you doing? I went through it all, you will be fine.
I have had 3 back ops,failed, am a crock.
Dont know what they will be doing for hubby, could lose his
leg.
As someone told you take all the anti-sickness tabs. I got lots
of pains into 2nd - 3rd day. Could have been injection for immune system they said. I wore scarves and bandanas. Got wig with Medical card. The radiotherapy gave me breast and arm problems. Was fair, it's grey and black. Still wear wig. Didnt know you cud get wigs so reasonable on line!
Just think of you when you start.
All good wishes

Gemgee
