Stomach cancer

Last reply: 03 December 2020 13:59

Hi all. It's my first time here. My mother has recently been diagnosed with stage 2 stomach cancer. She will start chemo in the next few wks and have her stomach fully removed in a couple of months. I was wondering if there is anyone in the community here that has gone through this procedure? I think it would be really helpful for her to speak to someone who has been through the experience and come out the other side?

Hi

I am sorry to hear of your mothers diagnosis and we wish her the very best with her treatment. I see that you have not had a reply yet to your query. If you think your Mum would find it helpful to speak to a cancer nurse here or in one of our Daffodil Centres, you or she can phone our supportline at 1800 200 700 Mon-Fri 9-5pm. We would endeavour to support her in any way we can. We could also post to her our booklets on for example stomach cancer/Diet & cancer/chemotherapy etc. During our conversation we could discuss counselling and others means of support through our affiliated cancer support centres.

We wish your mother the very best during this difficult time.

Kind regards

Cancer Nurse
