Kidney cancer

Last reply: 04 February 2021 19:38

I've been diagnosed with stage 2 renal cell carcinoma. I'm 29. Has anyone been through this? I'm told odds are very good but it's still terrifying. I am waiting for a date for a nephrectomy

Hi there,
I am very sorry to see that you have not had a reply yet.It must be very distressing for you.If you would like to phone our Nurseline at 1800 200 700 between 10-4pm and speak to a cancer nurse it can help to talk about how you are and perhaps we can make some suggestions around support in your locality or hospital, that you might find helpful. You might also like to contact the support group for young adults called YouCan through Facebook www.facebook.com/YouCanIreland
Meanwhile I hope your surgery has taken place by now and that you are recovering well.
Kind regards

Hi, I'm not sure if you're still active on this or what stage you are at now since diagnosis. I was diagnosed with RCC in August, have since had a nephrectomy. I'm only 37. Happy to share my experience with you or answer any questions i can if you still need this? I've only joined this site today, never knew or existed.
