Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC)

Last reply: 21 October 2015 11:50

Hi again,
Hx finished chemo & plan was to go to radiotherapy, but this has stalled without a given reason, yet. Anyone else in same boat? Know why?
How soon, statistically, have symtoms, returned for sclc after chemo? Know it will vary case by case, but on average, how long do the benefits of chemo last? (Etoposide & Carobplatin).
Scans done when chemo finished & all good, shrinkage, maybe not enough, what is % looked for?
Tks

Dear Cwitch,
I am sorry to read that your treatment has been stalled. I hope that, by now, you have been informed by your medical team, on their plans for your care.
One of our volunteers in our Peer to Peer programme, had surgery and chemotherapy for lung cancer. Although no 2 people’s cancer/treatment are the same, perhaps you might like to speak to this gentleman. You can contact us at 1800 200 700 to arrange this, if you wish.
Kind regards
Cancer Information Service Nurse.
