scared - uterine or cervical Adenocarcinoma

Last reply: 31 August 2022 08:57

Hi

I recently had a D&C and polypectomy due to symptoms which coincided with a positive hpv and abnormal (low grade) smear.
Turns out the results of the D&C were not good and doc was also surprised.
It’s Adenocarcinoma and after that I haven’t a clue. I’m just scared to be honest. I don’t know what’s in my body. Where it is or how far it’s spread. Google has me written off and i don’t know how I’ll cope between now and my appointment in the mater which I don’t have yet. I only found this out today. Im trying to stay sane and away from Google.
If you could point me in the direction of what to do I would be so grateful

Thanks

Dear Carrie79

Thank you for posting your message on our Ask the Nurse section.

I am so sorry to read of the anxious time you are going through at the moment. It is such a difficult stage knowing some information, waiting for further test results and not knowing what treatment will be recommended.

It would be great to speak to you on the phone about this. We also have written information we could post to you that you might find helpful. Do phone us if you can at 1800 200 700. We are all cancer nurses here Mon- Fri 9-5pm. We do also have a cancer nurse in the Mater Hospital. She is in our Daffodil Centre. Her phone number is 01 8545278. When you are going in for further appointments you might find it helpful to talk to our nurse there.

Wishing you the very best during this difficult time

Kind regards

Cancer Nurse
