Port

Hi my mum has a chemo port in her chest. Next to the port a lump has appeared. Mum not sure how long it has been there but it has got bigger over the past few weeks

I’m sorry to read that your mum is undergoing chemo, I hope she is tolerating it well and doing ok.

I’m not sure from your post whether your mum has any other symptoms with the lump or if she has had it reviewed by her oncology team. Swelling at the port site can indicate possible infection or blockage so we would recommend that your mum has the port reviewed by her oncology team as soon as she can to rule these out.
