Cancer Nurseline

Roz, a cancer nurse

The Cancer Nurseline is a supportive information service staffed by trained cancer nurses where anyone concerned about cancer can get trusted information and advice about any type of cancer.

We know that getting a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. The information we provide helps make sense of what’s said in doctor’s appointments, making patients feel more informed and in control of their treatment decision.

Contact the Cancer Nurseline

Call our Cancer Nurseline freefone on 1 800 200 700 for confidential advice, support and information on any cancer issue.

The Nurseline is available on Freephone 1800 200 700 during weekdays as well as anytime through email, social media and through our online community.

The service is available across the country, to anyone who needs it. Nurses are there to support cancer patients, their worried family members, or anyone seeking information about the signs and symptoms of cancer, or how to reduce their risk of the disease.

Nurses get between 20 and 25 calls a day. When not answering calls, nurses are responding to enquiries online, as well as making sure the information we provide to the public in other ways, like our publications and on our website, are accurate and up to date.

If the phone lines are busy, callers can leave a message and a Cancer Nurse will call back as soon as possible.

“The person I spoke to treated me as an adult and gave an honest answer to my questions. I have a diagnosis. All I wanted was information in a manner that I can understand. The cancer nurse was the first person to do that. Thank you.”
