Murex Ireland employees holding a fundraiser

Whether you're running a marathon or doing an overseas trek, or shaving your head to raise money to fund our work, we appreciate your amazing support!

Guidelines for Fundraisers

Due to current restrictions in place to slow the spread of Covid-19 and to ensure the safety of fundraisers and the public we would ask that you do not plan any social events or gatherings and consider the following in any fundraising activity you undertake.

  • Fundraising activities must adhere to current Government restrictions regarding staying at home, social distancing and limiting personal contacts.
  • Active challenges must be contained to a home environment (backyard, house) or within 2km of your home as part of ‘short daily exercise’ restrictions currently in place. Fundraisers using public spaces for active challenges (in line with restrictions) also need to undertake social distancing and be considerate of others and not obstruct them from using the public space.
  • Some repetitive physical activities carried out over a long duration have a risk of leading to accident or injury! We never want our fundraisers ending up in hospital, and now more than ever it is important that everyone stays safe. Please consider this when deciding on your challenge.

You can still help

The good news is there are still plenty of ways you can raise funds and help support the Irish Cancer Society. Check out our virtual fundraising page to see how you can break the lockdown boredom and stay connected, all while raising vital funds for Cancer patients.
