Fundraise on Facebook and Instagram
Facebook Fundraising is a quick and easy way to spread the word about your fundraiser and easily and safely collect donations from your family and friends.
If taking part in our 12,000 steps a day in March Challenge your page will have been set up when you registered. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here.
If you would like to set up a Facebook fundraising page to support your event, see our ‘How to’ guides below.
So now you have your page, here’s how to make the most of it!
Tell your story
Use your page to tell your story about why you're taking part or who inspired you to join in the fight against cancer. If people know why you are fundraising, they will be more likely to donate towards your cause.
Give updates
Keep your friends and families updated and give them regular updates on social media. It’s a great way to thank those that have donated already and who knows--it could encourage them to donate again!
Let people know
Share your Facebook fundraiser with family and friends on your Facebook page. Don't forget about Whatsapp, Instagram and email! Have your fundraising link in your email signature, Instagram profile and use Whatsapp your friends and family to make sure they know how to donate!
How to collect donations on Instagram
Add a donation sticker to your Instagram Story to collect donations for the Irish Cancer Society from your friends and followers. The donation sticker is especially useful when sharing photos from or information about your event.
Raising funds on Instagram is a safe, easy and money is transferred automatically to the Irish Cancer Society so you don’t have to do a thing – just add a sticker to your story!
