Cancer Nurse Researcher Award 2025

Introduction

The Irish Cancer Society, with kind support from the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP), are pleased to announce the 2025 Cancer Nurse Researcher Award. This award is a transformative investment in a nurse researcher who demonstrates great potential in driving and leading clinically relevant and innovative cancer research in Ireland. Funding is intended to support a nurse- led, partnership-based research project between nursing professionals and academic researchers based in the Republic of Ireland.

Eligibility

This award is open to clinical-academic research partnerships in the Republic of Ireland. At a minimum, the team must have one nursing professional working in an oncology/cancer-related clinical role (Clinical Nurse Research Lead) and one researcher working in an academic role (Academic Research Lead).

The 2025 award is intended to support innovative cancer research which will positively impact patient care and outcomes. Further details can be found in the Application Guidelines document below.

Funding and Duration

Applicants can apply for funding up to €150,000 for a project of >18 months in
duration.
