24th August 2026: Breast cancer survivor and Irish Cancer Society Board of Directors member Maria Fleming is part of a dragon boat team composed of breast cancer survivors called the Plurabelle Paddlers. The team will be participating in the 2026 IBCP Participatory Dragon Boat Festival in France.

Deirdre Doherty, 57, from Leitrim was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) in early 2019, after a routine blood test showed her white blood cell count was high. Click the link to read Deirdre's story.

In 2021, Liz noticed some small red spots that had appeared on her forehead. She was referred to a dermatologist who removed the spots, and it was discovered that the spots were basal cell and squamous cell skin cancer. Read more about Liz's story by clicking the link.
