Children's Christmas Appeal 2025

This Christmas, be a lifeline for families affected by childhood cancer.  Donate to support our Children’s Fund to provide vital financial support for families facing childhood cancer when they need it most.

With your support, we can provide free emotional care, vital support services, and moments of joy that every child deserves, just like we did for Sophia and her family.

Give the gift of care this Christmas. You can help to transform the lives of families affected by cancer across Ireland.  Your support helps provide our Support Line, free counselling, lifts to treatment, ground-breaking cancer research, funding to families facing a childhood cancer diagnosis, and so much more. Donate or shop our gifts this Christmas and help us do more.

Your impact
How your can make a difference this Christmas

This Christmas, lighten the load for families facing childhood cancer. By donating to the Irish Cancer Society this festive season, you are providing financial relief to families when they need it most. The Irish Cancer Society’s Children's Fund offers financial support to the parents of children with cancer.

The impact of your support in 2024:

  • Your support helped over 175 families access the Irish Cancer Society Children’s Fund to ease the financial burden of a childhood cancer diagnosis.
  • Your support helped over 50 families avail of therapeutic recreational camps, helping rebuild confidence, self-esteem, independence and social skills in young people affected by cancer.
  • You funded over 25 families to attend bereavement camps, helping build connections and process loss following a cancer diagnosis.
  • You funded more than 465 free lifts to bring childhood cancer patients to and from their treatment nationwide through the Irish Cancer Society Transport Service.
  • You funded 60 free counselling sessions for childhood cancer patients to help them process their diagnosis.
  • You helped fund more than 85 nights of Night Nursing care, to allow childhood cancer patients to die at home, surrounded by their loved ones.
  • You funded over 440 complementary therapy sessions for children and their parents while receiving treatment in the hospital.
  • You funded over 120 play therapy sessions for children with cancer and their siblings, helping them cope during a worrying and frightening time.
  • In 2024, the Irish Cancer Society provided almost 150 creative arts therapy sessions to children with cancer and their siblings, helping to support their psychosocial needs.

Where your donations go?

All our cancer research and vital free services like our Support Line, recreational camps, In-hospital support, counselling services, financial grants, play therapy, complementary therapy and Night Nursing are fuelled by fundraising. We only receive about 5% of our income from the Government so it’s thanks to your support that we can continue to be there for every child impacted by cancer in Ireland.

The more we raise, the more we can do, the more lifesaving research we can fund, the more vital free supports we can provide to children and their families facing this disease, and the closer we come to a day when no child dies from cancer in Ireland.
