Information on credit card and debit card security

Is there any advantage to donating online?

Yes. When you donate online, you help us twice over, as it is the most cost-efficient channel of collecting funds for the Irish Cancer Society.

How can I donate online?

You can donate using your credit or debit card online. Both MasterCard and Visa are accepted.

Is it very complicated to donate online?

Not at all. It's simple and safe. We will ask you for your name, contact details, how much you would like to donate, and if you have a preference, what area of our work you would like to support.

Is it secure?

At the final stage of donating, you will be asked to enter your credit or debit card number. This page is designed to protect all your information, your name, contact details and your credit card details. It’s called a Secure Page and is located on a different server protected by Internet security protocols. These protocols (called SSL or "secure sockets layer") ensure that any information sent from your computer and to our payment providers are encrypted and cannot be read by anyone else.

Do we store your credit card details?

No. As the payment is automatically processed by our payment providers, we never even see your full credit card details and so we can't store them. You will therefore need to re-enter your card details every time you make a payment on this website.

Can I donate by another means if I wish?

Absolutely. Please call us on CallSave 1850 60 60 60 to donate with your credit or debit card or to ask about all the ways you can support us. (Please call +353 1 2310500 from outside Ireland).
