Why your support matters this October
Host a Big Pink Breakfast and Make a Really Big Difference!
This October, we’re encouraging you to be breast-aware.
This vital information will help you identify what is normal or irregular for you so that you can spot any changes at the earliest possible time. It is more common in those over 50, but it can affect younger women and men as well.
The sooner you notice a change, the better because if cancer is found early, treatment is more likely to be successful. It is best to get into the habit of checking your breasts regularly - read our guide here. This will help you notice any changes that may occour. Read more about breast health awareness here.
The impact of your Big Pink Breakfast
Every Euro Counts! Whether you host or attend a Big Pink Breakfast, you’ll be making a difference to the lives of breast cancer patients across the country.
Your generosity turns our researcher’s passion into progress for breast cancer patients, finding ways to improve their quality of life during and after treatment. Your kind support also allows breast cancer patients to access innovative clinical trials through our funding of Clinical Trials Ireland.
In 2023, the funds you helped raise supported people affected by breast cancer through over 5,490 supportive and comforting conversations with the Irish Cancer Society’s Support Line and Daffodil Centre nurses. Over 4,825 free counselling sessions were provided to help breast cancer patients cope with their diagnosis.
In 2023, you helped to fuel more than 4,650 lifts to treatment for over 485 breast cancer patients through the Irish Cancer Society’s Transport Service. Your commitment and hard work mean we can be there for people affected by breast cancer when they need support.
