Hello I’m 42 and recently diagnosed with Stage 4 low grade ovarian cancer. Are there any other women with this type of cancer?

Dear Johanne

Thank you for posting on our online community. I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis and I hope that you are keeping well. I see that you have not heard from other ladies yet. I hope you do soon. As low grade serous ovarian cancer is a rare form of ovarian cancer this may be why you haven’t heard from others. If you would like to phone our support line you can speak to a cancer nurse. We can talk to you about how you are and how you are coping with this diagnosis. Our phone number is 1800 200 700 and we are here Mon-Fri 9-5pm.

We can also suggest to you that you post a message on other forums such as the Irish ovacare.ie site . Of course when something is rare you might find the UK Ovacome.org.uk/Forum  will have a lot more activity being a larger population for a less common type of cancer.

I do hope we will hear from you and that you will get support from others on the above sites.

Kind regards

Cancer nurse
