Prostrate Cancer - Lu 177 PSMA Treatment
Has anyone explored the Lu 177 PSMA treatment ?
I understand only 3 on trials in the Mater Private.
Royal Marsdon in Surrey on hospital in the UK offering it.
FDA approved in 2022
But originated in Germany about 8-10 years ago, and is now available in 50 - 70 hospitals in Germany.
I have stage 4 metastatic prostrate cancer and am half way through my 39 radiotherapy sessions and am interested in exploring what options are available afterwards to contain / beat my cancer.
I’d really love to hear from someone who may be interested in exploring this option or any other constructive options for this journey.

Your post was brought to my attention by one of my Physics colleagues.
We’ve treated 3 patients for a total of 10 cycles of Lu177 PSMA 617 (Pluvicto) at the Mater University Hospital, Dublin, the only site in Ireland, starting in December 2022. This was under compassionate access from Novartis.
We can’t treat anybody else outside of a self payer or insured patient in the private sector until the government agrees to pay for Pluvicto or a similar product- the NCPE/HSE have been reviewing it since 2023.
Your oncologist is the most important person to advise on treatment options right now. We are looking into all the alternative ways of making this available in Ireland in the meantime. All of the blocks are around funding from the HSE or insurers. We have previously contacted the ICS about this.
We have also talked to the NCCP about it on numerous occasions for a number of years.
We want to make patients aware of what is going on.
