Elave skincare launches Irish Cancer Society Survivorship Programme partnership for 2015

Dundalk-based company Elave skincare, manufactured by Ovelle Pharmaceuticals, today (26th August 2015) launched its partnership with the Irish Cancer Society’s Survivorship Programme for the fourth year in a row raising significant funds for this valuable programme. From 1st September to the end of October 2015, €1 from every Elave Dermatological Daily Essentials pack sold will go to the Society’sSurvivorship Programme. The Survivorship Programme provides practical and emotional one-to-one support for those newly diagnosed with cancer by people who have undergone cancer treatment themselves. Since the programme started in 1979, it has helped thousands of newly diagnosed cancer patients. Being diagnosed with cancer can be one of the most difficult situations a person will face in their lifetime. All of the Society’s survivorship volunteers have had a cancer diagnosis and are carefully selected and trained to give support, practical information and reassurance to those newly diagnosed with cancer.“We’re delighted to have the support of Elave again this year for the Survivorship Programme,” said John McCormack, CEO of the Irish Cancer Society. “A key part of our work is ensuring that those living with or beyond cancer have all the support they need. This is Elave’s fourth year supporting our vital work in this area and with their help we have been able to continue our Survivorship Programme. Our volunteers’ passion for the work comes from the knowing that one conversation with someone who has been there too can make such a huge difference at a very difficult time.” he added. Founded in 1934 by Joseph Gardiner, Ovelle Pharmaceuticals, which produces the Elave skincare range, is a third generation Irish family business that has been producing sensitive skincare solutions for over 80 years. Elave’s promise of Absolute Purity means that all formulations are free from sulfates, parabens, perfume, colours, soaps & other harsh chemicals, making Elave a safe skincare choice for those with extra sensitive skin as a result of cancer treatments. “We’re very happy to have partnered up with the Irish Cancer Society on their Survivorship Programme again this year.” said Joanna Gardiner, Elave’s Managing Director and granddaughter of Joseph Gardiner. “sensitive  skin can be a  side effect of cancer treatments and we hope to make people aware of the benefits of using Elave skincare while also raising valuable funds for the survivorship programme in retail pharmacy in Ireland.” she said. The Elave Dermatological Daily Essentials pack containing three active hydrating products is available in pharmacies nationwide includingBoots, Lloyds, McCabe’s, Sam McCauley’s and online at www.elaveskincare.com for the special promotional price of €18.95. To find out more about the Survivorship Programme call the Irish Cancer Society’s Cancer Nurseline on Freephone 1800 200 700, or visit www.cancer.ie. For more information on Elave skincare visit www.elaveskincare.com.
