PREVENT Programme

Volunteer with the Irish Cancer Society’s PREVENT Programme

Are you interested in health? Do you have time to give to your community to work on raising awareness about cancer prevention?
PREVENT volunteers with the Irish Cancer Society give information stands and talks to adults in the community.

Topics covered include

  • Irish Cancer Society, our services and programmes

  • You can reduce your risk of cancer by up to 50% by making healthy lifestyle choices

  • Spotting cancer early and the importance of early detection and screening.
New volunteers receive training over a six month period and then go on to commit to one year volunteering with the programme. Throughout the programme volunteers receive on-going support and supervision
