Volunteer with a cancer support group or centre

Learn about how you can volunteer within a support service, whether you’re a cancer survivor or a person whose life has been touched by cancer in another way.

We’re looking for all kinds of support volunteers

Cancer support services all over Ireland are looking for volunteers to help them. There are many roles including complementary therapists, counsellors and listening volunteers. Each role has its own requirements around skills and time commitments.

There are also opportunities to share other skills such as bookkeeping, administration and maintenance. Check with your local service to see if there is an opening that's right for you:

Start up support

Are you living in an area that doesn't have a cancer support service? We can help you by providing information and advice about how to start and maintain a cancer support service.

We also give training to volunteers, managers and board members of cancer support services that are affiliated to the Irish Cancer Society. You can apply to become an affiliated service. Find out more about our support services affiliation programme.
