Join the Irish Cancer Society in 2016 on one of our exciting charity treks aboard! We offer multiple treks throughout the year to Machu Picchu, Peru and Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. The Irish Cancer Society is the largest voluntary funder of cancer research in Ireland. Because we are 95% funded by the public, we rely on the generosity of our supporters like you to help fund life-saving cancer research as well as support and services for people affected by cancer.

This famous trek along the Inca Trail to reach Machu Picchu offers an unrivalled combination of stunning scenery and amazing culture. We begin the trek by following the Urubamba River and then climb over several high passes including Wamiwanusca “Dead Woman’s Pass” which offers breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains. On our last day of trekking we rise early to get to Intipunku “The Sun Gate” in time to see the first light hit the magnificent city of Machu Picchu, a truly special experience.

Take on the adventure of a lifetime and join our team of trekkers climbing Kilimanjaro this year. Mount Kilimanjaro “The Roof of Africa” stands at a mighty 5895m. Our challenge takes us along the beautiful Machame Route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the south through dense tropical rainforest and all the way up to the mighty snow-capped summit.
This is a tough but rewarding route and on reaching the summit you will feel a sense of overwhelming achievement.
